  • Amanda Schmidt, LPC- Supervisor

Amanda has worked as a school counselor since 2013, with a primary focus on crisis intervention since 2018 in both school and community settings. She brings extensive experience supporting individuals struggling with suicidal ideation and non-suicidal self-injury. Amanda believes that healing after a crisis requires ongoing support in a space where clients feel safe, understood, and free from judgment.

In addition to crisis work, Amanda has experience helping clients navigate trauma, parenting challenges, depression, and anxiety. Her approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in meeting clients where they are.

Amanda also integrates animal-assisted therapy into her practice. Parker, her certified therapy dog, works alongside her to provide an added layer of comfort and connection within the therapeutic process. Amanda and Parker are certified by Alliance of Therapy Dogs, have passed the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen test, and are recognized as a Certified Animal-Assisted Counseling Team through the Texas State University Animal-Assisted Counseling Academy.

Amanda enjoys working with clients ages 9 and up, as well as parents seeking guidance and support in caring for children who are struggling with mental health concerns.
